Hi! I'm Niamh (pronounced "Neeeev"). For the 

past few years, I've been trying my hand at 

illustrating children's books. I've done a bunch of different jobs throughout my life, but nothing is quite as fun or fulfilling as making artwork to bring stories to life.

I believe that it's really important for kids to 

have art and stories which are made with some real care and passion behind them. This is why I make my art entirely by hand, and with traditional materials where possible. I just love the textures you can achieve with some good old pencils and paint.

Alongside working on my illustrations, I am also

studying at the Hull School of Art and Design. I've just begun my Fine Art degree, and am ridiculously excited to see what more I can learn!

 

Apart from drawing, my main hobbies include obsessing over dinosaurs, making Halloween costumes far too early in the year to be reasonable, and chilling out with my cantankerous pet cockatiel, Pepper.
